The German Sport University (GSU) is known as the top European Sport University and the only university in Germany that is dedicated exclusively to sport and exercise science. While the University´s research, teaching and consultation activities are related to a variety of aspects of sports and exercise (i.e. health, social policy and economy), the Department of Molecular and Cellular Sport Medicine at the Institute of Cardiology and Sports Medicine focuses on all aspects of sports medicine, specifically addressing the identification of regulation paths and cellular/extracellular mechanisms of functional and structural adaptation to mechanical, metabolic and hormonal stresses under various physiological and pathophysiological conditions.

The team from Prof. W. Bloch will provide its high expertise in the development and conduction of the FORTEe study and be of great help in the dissemination of the project to future exercise specialists. The expertise of GSU team in analysing molecular and cellular biomarker will also support the FORTEe study to analyse immunological and epigenetic modifications induced by exercise therapy.
